(( I could not think of anything. Lol. Anyways, here you are, October. ))

Silver stepped carefully across a fallen tree. Beside her, Adurna trudged playfully. Her wings fluttered casually against the wind. However, instead of flying, she simply used them as entertainment. The action forced a smile upon Silver's face. Lowering the cloak, she allowed the hood to fall against her back.

Adurna and Silver stared at each other for a moment. Deciding to take a rest, Silver sat against the fallen tree. She patted her lap carefully. Almost as suddenly, Adurna jumped up. The catlike creature curled and closed its eyes. Feathering her wings, she placed them against her fur. Silver thought that she would fall asleep.

'I doubt it is safe to be wandering around here' The familiar thoughts trudged through Silver's mind. Glancing down, she noticed one of Adurna's eyes staring back. She was always so cautious. Then again, that was probably a good thing. Silver was spared many fights thanks to Adurna. "Really?" She questioned, though knowing the answer. Adurna did not answer as she closed her eye. Then, 'I guess I can't stop you.' That was probably true. Once Silver had found something to do, she would not simply walk away. And these lands sparked curiosity.

"I wonder what creatures live in these swamps." Silver began petting Adurna's head. She had no idea, in all truths. But she was not worried. After all, she had her bow. And of course she had Adurna. Well, not that Adurna could do too much. She was still young. But Silver had faith that, if she needed her, Adurna would help her.

'I still say it is dangerous to be here.' Silver sighed. "Its not like I am forcing you to come along. You can always stay behind." Adurna looked up to her. A look of slight contempt crossed the creature's face. Silver knew that she had said the wrong thing. Besides, she did not want her to go either. They had never been separated. Ever since that first day, when Adurna hatched, they had been together. 'Right. Because that is a perfect plan.' Adurna merely sat on Silver's lap now, gazing up at her. 'I'll go. Still, I don't like it.'

A rustle then a loud splash of water is heard in the distance, toward the wetter, wilder part of the swamp. The sound of ripping vegetation follows, continuing, as if something is thrashing around in the undergrowth. It seems to be getting closer, and if you strain to listen, you hear a loud, almost pig-like squeaking, and yells in a strange, animalesqe language. The only way toward the noise seems to be through a tunnel of thorny branches, that dilute the sunlight to a dim darkness. Investigate, or wait it out?

'See?! I told you!' Adurna turned her head suddenly, hearing the odd sounds. She quickly jumped from Silver's lap and landed carefully on the ground. "Alright." Silver stood again. Looking over, she patted Adurna's head comfortingly. "Its alright, though. You have me." Smiling slighty, Silver looked down. Adurna gave a look of anger. Tilting her head, she appeared to roll her eyes. 'An amazing defense.' The catlike creature grinned, showing her white fangs, as if laughing at her. Silver smiled too. Why not? There was no reason to be angry with her. "Better than you."

Silver moved closer, trying to get a better look. Adurna followed from behind. Coming to an overturned tree, she stuck her small head under, where a small hole appeared to be. It was a good way to see without actually having to get close to the noise. On the other hand, Silver went for the direct approach and simply walked towards it. 'What do you think it is?'

A large gray, rat-like creature, the size of a large dog, with slimy fur oozing with some kind of clear slime is slipping in and out of the water, trailing purple-tinted blood. After a moment, one can see black-feathered darts sticking out of its fur as it makes an attempt to hide in the weeds of the marsh. A few seconds later, a group of about six strange looking humanoids run by, obviously chasing the abnormally large water rat. Rather than hair, brilliant red and orange feathers fall back from their scalps, the quills falling to about their chin. They seem abnormally spindly in appearance, frail, and delicate, but they move across the ground with amazing speed. Their faces look slightly flattened, and their eyes are larger than a normal human's. They are dressed in what seems to be one long, flexible animal hide, about as thick as normal cloth, worn in a style reminiscent of a toga. They are chattering and yelling in a strange language as they close in around the water rat, drawing out darts, but one suddenly jerks its head to the side, staring with oddly pale green eyes at Silver. He shouts something in his odd tongue to the others, and they all turn to look, as the rat dashes away into the water, swimming with the ease of a fish away from the group. They seem very curious, but cautious to approach, one of the braver ones takes two small, careful steps forward, too distracted by Silver to notice Adurna.

Silver watched as the ratlike creature swam through the water. It's odd appearance forced curiosity into her head. It looked so odd, not to mention the darts in it's back. She knew it was being followed. After all, it was running away, and it had bloody weapons in it's hide. Of course she did not know why anyone would chase it. The creature was rather disgusting. 'What in the world is it!?' Silver was wondering when Adurna would speak to her again. But she did not reply. Why her friend thought she would know was beyond her.

Suddenly six figures appeared. They were chasing the creature, just as Silver had predicted. Well, in a way. Their appearance seemed to be like a human. There was differences, however. Still, Silver was not human either. So obviously she had no reason to talk. But they were different, and they forced her to forget about the rat. Apparently she had the same effect. As they stopped, one made it's way towards her. 'Silver? We do not even know who they are. Or what they are...' Adurna lowered her head closer to the ground. From the hole, she could easily see Silver and the approaching figure. 'Be careful.'

Silver would have spoken to Adurna. However, with the appearance of these people, she thought it best to not speak. She did not want to give Adurna away, just in case they were hostile.

Seeing as it was a swamp a danger or two would lurk. A crocodile like creature was under the murky water waiting for a foolish tribesman. One who was stupid enough was going for the rat thing. The crocodile emerged and it was long like a snake and yet it had four legs on each side. It coiled around the man and forced him below. It constricted on him and squeezed the air out. The man's oxygen supply was cut off and the air in his lungs forced out. The constricting crocodile began to forced it's spikes into the skin. The man was underwater and the blood seeped.

Meanwhile a vapor of some type or a smokey essence floated. It guarded the entrance to the brushes the thing was in.

All of the humanoid creatures leapt back in alarm, chattering in protest. A few of them tossed darts at the great scaly beast, and though all of them hit their mark, they all bounced straight back off again. The other two, seemingly the youngest, dodged into the drier undergrowth, quivering in terror. One of the males was snapped up in the creature's great maw, making not a sound as his blood dribbled out of the creature's mouth, pooling into little puddles, quickly soaked up by the marshy ground. There was a sickening crunch of light, bird-like bone crunching, as the creature made it's way back across the water. Another of the human-like people, a female, ran after the creature, wading a step or two into the water before one of her fellows grabbed her arm, dragging her back. She seemed to be heatedly yelling at the swamp monster, involuntary moaning sobs shaking her voice; like to the sound a wounded animal would make. She looked rather forlorn, the fabric like skin she was wearing soaked from the knee down, blood and dirt streaking her calves, angry tears running down her face. As the creature disappeared from view behind the fog, the two beneath the bush crept out again, the crying girl gradually quieted herself, and they all slowly bunched together once more, looking unsure from Silver to the plug of fog where the monster had disappeared, as if calculating which one they should occupy themselves with. Finally, one began walking back along the path they had come, using her hands to maneuver around the branches. The rest still seemed unsure of what to do, seemingly glued to the spot.

Large wings, like those of a monarch butterfly beat swiftly against the air. THe carried a small fairy, slightly over a foot tall. Her long blond hair floated out behind her, and she looked down onto the swamp below her. She got there just in time to see the crocodile devour one of the tribes people. In the gruesom shock of it, she nearly forgot to beat he wings, and swooped down lower onto the scene. 'what happened here?" she thought, not once blinking her golden eyes. She landed a few feet away from the scene, and smoothed out her flowerlike dress. She didn't bother to hide, she doubted the humanoid creatures would attack after their loss, and if they did try, she figured it wouldn't be too hard to get away.
